Voter Fraud Texas Style
Federal investigators are to meet this week with local prosecutors to coordinate the cases being developed and determine who'll face state felony charges for voting illegally and who will be deported for violating federal immigration law.
No arrests have yet been made.
Authorities said they are anticipating charging some of the undocumented people alleged to have voted in Bexar County with felony violation of state law before they are turned over to immigration agents and likely deported. . . . .

I wonder which party these "undocumented" "non-citizens" voted for.
I found your chapter on voting and Congressional behavior in Freedomnomics very interesting. I'm a big fan of Bryan Caplan's theory of "rational irrationality" in his book "Myth of the Rational Voter". What do you think of it? I compared your views of political behavior with Caplan's and political scientist Bruce Bueno de Mesquita here.

I find myself in agreement with Bryan that systematic mistakes can occur. Otherwise, why would dictatorships try to indoctrinate citizens? Though I also discuss in my work how the lowered cost of people getting anti-government information has helped lead to the fall of totalitarian governments.
I also have explanations for why people like price controls based on the cost of learning. On the other hand, I don't think that everything is so mistaken. For example, I think that generally people do a good job of selecting politicians who represent their views.
The issue is an empirical one.
I do have disagreements with how Bryan made his case.
