Unusually cool summer for the US as a whole

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that we have had the 34th coldest summer out of the last 115 years. That means that 70.4 percent of the summers were warmer.

The average June-August 2009 summer temperature for the contiguous United States was below average – the 34th coolest on record, according to a preliminary analysis by NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.
