Wisconsin and Concealed Carry

Pretty soon Illinois will be the only state that forbids people being able to carry concealed handguns.

Wisconsin, one of two states in the nation that prohibits citizens from carrying a concealed weapon, is expected to reverse this law during the upcoming state legislative session, according to a local newspaper.

Only Illinois and Wisconsin forbid carrying concealed weapons. A Republican was elected governor and Republicans won majorities in both houses of the Wisconsin legislature in November, bringing many more supporters of gun rights to the state government.

"You're going to see a concealed carry bill pass the Legislature, I have no doubt," Chris Danou, a Democratic legislator from Trempealeau, Wisconsin, told the LaCrosse Tribune newspaper. "The question is what kind of bill it's going to be." . . .

Concealed carry has actually passed in Wisconsin TWICE, but was vetoed both times by the Democrat governor. At least one of the times it was one vote shy of being veto proof.

Technically the article is correct. However, please try to get a concealed carry permit in New Jersey and let us know how it goes :)

Thanks for the comments.
Dear jkhhkkkkkhkh:
The third edition of MGLC shows that there are about 10,000 permit holders in NJ and half of those are retired police. So it is very hard to get a permit, but it isn't impossible.
Dear Omer B:
One time the veto override failed by one vote and another time it failed by two votes (both in the state House).

I live in the PRI (People's Republik of Illinois) and we are about to become the Lone Star state. Oh, boy!

There are some working for concealed carry here, but not many. IGOLD is (Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day) is Thursday, March 10, 2011. Be there, let your representatives know you'll be there, ask them to come. They may.

There are bills introduced every session to legalize concealed carry but they never get out of committee.

Maybe when Governor Daley is out of office that will change, but that will depend on who replaces him.

We can hope, can't we?
