I've just wasted a perfectly good few minutes looking at what passes for "opinion" on the liberal presses websites. The L A Times in this instance. Well, I got an idea of the types of individuals who elect Dianne Feinstein. I believe quite a number of them (the posters on the "comment" section) think that the NRA leadership shoots at new borns (hung on a rope) for target practice. If these are our "informed voters" we are in a LOT of trouble. If I lived in New York or California - I would (if at all possible, MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE. But, my question is: What should I do if they make that nonsense (ala Feinstein) the LAW OF THE (U.S.) LAND? This is a sincere question.

JRLott: thank you for all your work these days, you are a rare asset for seeing thru/past the "liberal fog". I enjoyed Larry Correia's description as it provides ideas for our own responses as we respond to similar questions. The video mentioned a (long) article by Mr. Correia... The gentleman in the video did not explain the aspects of what constitutes an "Assault Rifle". I was pleasantly suprised by the fact that he did know that assault rifles were in fact banned before they were invented. The NFA of 1934 restricted ownership of automatic weapons, and the "Assault Rifle" was invented in 1944 in Germany (StG 44).

It was very nice to actually see someone give an outstanding explanation of the features of Eugene Stoner's AR (Armalite, not automatic rifle) carbines. He did leave out the fact that the 'Barrel Shroud' on AR's, not only protects your hands from burns, it also serves to protect the gas tube from damage. Without the gas tube, the weapon is useless as it cannot cycle.

Many modern semiautomatic firearms are gas operated and do have a gas tube that is protected by a shroud. So, if we ban guns based on the shroud alone, almost all semiauto guns would be illegal.

So far, it's all about what a firearm looks like, and not a fact based argument that is supportable by any stretch of the imagination.

One last item... What about the Bill of Rights? Where or when does it come into play? The history of the adoption of the Second Amendment is highly documented, and is a complete restriction on the government to ban ownership of any firearm.
